New in 2.26 : Explorer dialog boxes (with long file name) in all Batch dialog
boxes, and support of ISO CDRom Image file (see at the end of this file).
The next minor version of WinImage will enhance integration with Windows 95
(and Windows NT 3.51 + new shell). You can download wimbt226.zip with the 32
bits version of WinImage 2.26 beta 4. This Zipfile don't contain the help file
of WinImage. I highly suggest you download WinImage 2.20 before this beta.
Don't use a translation file (a .T32 file) from WinImage 2.20 with this beta.
(You need only select english or french langage for don't use these file).
What's news in this beta :
╖ List View control : you can use the new List View common control (Small icon,
Large icon, list and report view) like Explorer, instead the old-List box.
╖ Tabbed dialog box for Setting
╖ Rewrite DMF formatting code for Windows 95 (there are somes stranges hardware
compatibilty problems in 2.20)
Warning : Don't forget this is a beta version !
For information, on internet web :

-----------
Note: The classic DMF format is DMF 2048. You need use classic 3"1/2 HD format.
In Option, Setting, Disk tabs, they are 3 entry.
"Use IOCTL" : Normally, it must be checked. It tell WinImage use 32 bits
IOCTL operation, except for format DMF
"Use new DMF format technology" : If it's unchecked, WinImage format DMF
in the same way than in version 2.20. If it's checked, WI use new code.
"Quick format in 1.44 MB before DMF" : If it's checked, WinImage do a
quick format in 1.44 MB before format in DMF.
It's seem it's difficult format a blank floppy in DMF without format
in 1.44 MB before.
Mail me your report to 100144.2636@compuserve.com
For help me manage my email, it can be a good idea select a subject that
begin by "WI226:" (by sample "WI226 : Test result").
Thank you, and good luck !
----------------
The DMF code was not modified from 2.25 to 2.26
If your computer don't format in DMF, try under DOS (not the DOS box of Windows 95,
but a reboot in DOS mode, you can select F8 and after 6 in Win95 menu) :
FDFORMAT A: F168
You'll format a DMF floppy with FDFORMAT, which use the BIOS for format DMF
(like WinImage).
IT'S VERY IMPORTANT FOR ME KNOW IF FDFORMAT RUN IN YOUR COMPUTER TO HELP YOU.
Fdformat complete version is on ftp://ftp.coast.net/SimTel/msdos/diskutil/fdform18.zip
User with Intel motherboard (Gateway...) : download the latest Bios on the Intel
ftp site : ftp://ftp.intel.com/pub/bios
Somes users have fixed their problem upgrading the Bios !
----------------
On http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/gvollant/othertl.htm,
they are reference on other tools that can format DMF if you want test.

New in 2.26 : Explorer dialog boxes (with long file name) in all Batch dialog
boxes, and support of ISO CDRom Image file (see at the end of this file) :
In version prior to 2.26, somes dialog boxes in assistant are not new style
(explorer) and not display long file name. Now, ALL dialog boxes uses
long file name with WINIMANT.EXE under Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0
You can open in read-only CDRom image file (.ISO) builded with Incat easy-CD
or with DOS freeware CD2FILE in the CD2CD package
(http://www.mainstream.net/~jarnold/cdrom/cdrom.html).
WinImage don't load these big file in memory (they are very big !), and can do
all read only operation (display and change directory, Extract). Write operation
are not allowed (Inject, create directory).
I'm interrested in feedback about this feature : is it useful ? and if WinImage
can open image file from other CD tools...
